Would Chris Evans like a cheese gift hamper?
Published on 24/02/2010

BBC Radio Two presenter Chris Evans has revealed he is a big fan of Wensleydale cheese, suggesting he might be pleased to receive a gift hamper containing the product.

The celebrity, who has made a return to the public arena over recent months and was present during a recent Six Nations rugby game, said he loves the dairy treat.

He stated: "I went to the Wensleydale factory once and it was great - it was a great day out."

Evans went on to praise the centre's shop, saying it would be possible to spend a whole day in there.

Also, the cheese-based dishes served at the factory are a thing to behold, he said, claiming they were "just the best ever".

In a campaign which is being backed by the Yorkshire Post, the Real Yorkshire Wensleydale creamery is applying for Protected Designation of Origin status, which is already enjoyed by products such as Parma ham.
