Women 'should check ingredients when buying quality skin creams'
Published on 23/08/2012

Ladies who enjoy taking care of their skin and using pamper hampers as part of their beauty regimes may want to take one expert's advice about the best products on the market.

Leading nutritionist and advisor to Astral Light and Creamy Miguel Toribio-Mateas explained how certain face creams work better than others.

According to the specialist, skin is made up of two layers containing natural body fats and water, so it is important to opt for a product that has a good combination of these ingredients.

Mr Toribio-Mateas said: "Creams that are too light and watery don't have the ability to penetrate deep enough to reach the fatty layer, so they only work very superficially."

These products are noted as alright for those with very oily skin, but people with drier skin types are advised to use heavy creams containing vitamin E.

It was suggested that looking at ingredients is the best option when picking a beauty item, as price is "not a good indicator".
