Bottles of wine could soon contain a health notice on the label, it has been suggested. American and Swiss investigators have created a device that can determine which beverages have the most health-giving properties, the Guardian reports. Jean-Charles Hoda, a member of the Swiss research team, remarked: "The antioxidant properties of wine are well known, but this machine means we are able to measure the actual chemicals in the bottles." He explained the apparatus was originally devised from a medical point of view, but then the team realised it had "interesting commercial application". Furthermore, he claimed the product will encourage wine producers to create drinks that contain more polyphenols. And he revealed pinot noir grapes have the most health benefits and noted it must be better to have a glass of wine, in moderation, rather than take a supplement containing similar properties. Writing for Reuters, Curtis Marsh recently suggested chocolate and wine - which often feature in luxury Christmas hampers - go well together. He explained high-quality chocolate accompanied by a deep red wine can be a real treat
