People seeking to buy wine hampers for a friend or family member may like to brush up on their knowledge first by attending a master class.

Led by celebrity chef Mike Robinson and wine expert Susie Barrie, one such event will take place at the National Magazine Company's Demo Kitchen on Broadwick Street in London on Friday March 19th.

Attendees will get the chance to sharpen their skills in the areas of both food and drink.

Among the topics to be discussed is what products can make the perfect additions to picnic baskets over the summer.

Also, Ms Barrie - who is a regular feature on BBC programme Saturday Kitchen - will talk people through the best spring and summer social drinks.

Rounding off proceedings, there will be a reception with Parma ham and Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese canapes and Burgundy, Port and Douro Valley wines.

Those keen to get involved are advised to book early as tickets will be dispensed on a first come, first served basis.
