It has been revealed that Co-operative Farms is hoping to plant vines near Cirencester, the Guardian reports.
The scheme is expected to yield around 20,000 bottles of white wine from 2014 and will be the fifth one to have taken place in Gloucestershire.
It is a six-acre project and is the latest addition to southern England's "burgeoning" wine industry, the news provider stated.
Christine Tacon, managing director of the company, said: "It's a bit of an experiment but it's one we are really looking forward to … The conditions make it a good location to plant a vineyard."
There are to be a number of events held in Michigan to celebrate the beverage over the coming months, including Vin Vendue on May 15th and the Lake Michigan Shore Wine Festival on June 19th.
