Wine hamper fans offered 'simple, understandable' reviews
Published on 21/02/2011

Fans of wine hampers who like to know what to expect when trying a new bottle could find Real Time Wine to be of help.

According to the Daily Maverick, site creator Andy Hadfield's reviews of the beverage on Twitter are witty, erudite and understandable and are user-friendly for people who do not consider themselves to be expert wine-tasters.

Real Time Wine has four writers and certain words are banned from their business vocabulary including "palate", "note" and "breathtaking integration" so as to avoid falling into step with more traditional wine writers.

The launch statement for Real Time Wine stated: "We're trying to start a culture here. A culture that fights the snob wine drinker and celebrates the pleb. And a culture that allows anyone to be a wine reviewer."

Meanwhile, those who enjoy the contents of their wine hampers can do so without overindulging.

This is according to expert Emma Bailie, who told the Lancashire Evening Post that tips such as having a soft drink before cracking open a bottle can help people from draining their glasses too quickly.
