A trip to Burgundy might be the perfect weekend getaway for wine gift hamper fans as the pursuit has been recommended by a travel writer. Reporting for the Daily Mail, David Atkinson journeyed to the French viticulture region with his father to mark his 71st birthday. The journalist observed the area "is the taste capital of France" and everywhere "is bursting with flavours". He and his dad attended a tasting session, which included a variety of different blends, including blackcurrants, honey, balsamic vinegar and spicy ginger. The pair then headed to Sensation Vin, a "wine cellar-cum-classroom" in Beaune that offers anyone with an interest in the industry a one-hour course in appreciation of the beverage and prides itself on a "laid-back ambience". Earlier in the month, British wine producers took part in the nationwide marketing campaign of English Wine Week, which was a collaboration between vineyards, merchants, farms, shops and pubs.
