Wine hamper fans may be interested to hear more companies within the industry are increasing their efforts to help the environment, one expert has suggested.
In an article for the Hertfordshire Mercury, Amanda Johnston said some manufacturers have launched fundraising schemes to support campaigns set up to help the environment.
She explained Banrock Station will appear in Somerfield and Co-op shops with limited edition labels featuring a bee and a flower.
"Five pence from every bottle sold will go to the Plan Bee Association, to help preserve our bee population," Ms Johnston added.
She also noted the beverage will be sold at a promotional price of £4.60, instead of the usual £6.10.
And the writer observed some wine manufacturers are now using green packaging such as Tetrapaks and plastic bottles.
Earlier this week, it was revealed Diageo wine sales have increased by 20 per cent over the past year.
