Wine hamper fans given tasting tips
Published on 03/09/2010

Individuals who attend a wine tasting session should take their time and taste each wine slowly, savouring each sip, two experts have suggested.

In an article for the-signal.com, Lil Lepore and Sahri Frazier said people should refer back to the notes given to them by the winery, as this will help them to evaluate the flavours and aromas of the beverages.

"You are not obligated to taste every wine, nor are you obligated to drink all the wine that is poured," the pair stated.

They added it is common practice to pour or spit the remainder of the sample into the dumping bucket.

According to the specialists, it is rude to ask for a second tasting and between each drink it is wise for individuals to cleanse their palates with water.

Earlier this week, a beverage that originates from East Sussex won a prestigious title at the Decanter World Wine Awards.

Ridgeview's Grosvenor Blanc de Blancs 2006 bagged the International Trophy for Sparkling Wine over £10.
