A group of 24 children from Belarus were given a day out at Warwick Castle this week, as part of a visit organised by a charitable group.
The Chernobyl Children's Project arranged for the group to head to the UK for a holiday and a chance to leave their home region of Gomel - which was hit by the Chernobyl nuclear disaster - behind, reports the BBC.
All of the youngsters who visited the Midlands live in an area that is still contaminated 26 years on from the accident, which affects their immune systems.
Their day out at the castle could have been the perfect opportunity to enjoy the contents of picnic hampers, which are also a hit with British families on days out during the summer holidays.
Linda Walker, the founder of the Chernobyl Children's Project, said: "These holidays can have a big impact on children's health, as well as being enjoyable."
