People who receive birthday hampers containing cheese may be interested in some top tips offered by celebrity chefs. According to Michel Roux Jr, who is in charge at Le Gavroche and who presents BBC2's MasterChef: The Professionals show, the dairy products can go well with beer or cider, the Daily Mirror reports. This is in addition to the more traditional accompaniment of wine, the foodie pointed out. His favourite cheese from the UK is Dorset Blue Vinny, he revealed, adding that he is also a big fan of Blacksticks Blue and any hard cheese, such as cheddar. Fellow culinary wizard Jason Atherton, who runs the restaurant Maze in London and makes appearances on a range of programmes, including Saturday Kitchen, revealed he is a fan of Lincolnshire Poacher and said cauliflower cheese is his favourite dish involving dairy. The two cooking experts made their comments to coincide with National Dairy Week, which runs until February 28th.
