Staff at a supermarket in Dorset are planning to raffle off hampers to raise money for charity.
Workers at the Co-operative store in Bridport have launched a year-long fundraising extravaganza in support of the Carers Trust.
To mark the launch of their activities, they will be dressing up in Rock Around the Clock themed gear to highlight the 24-hour nature of a carer's job. As well as raffles with hampers for prizes, colleagues at the supermarket are also planning dress-down days.
Speaking in the Dorset Echo, Rob Garland, manager of the Bridport store, said: “We’re delighted that Carers Trust is our Charity of the Year and that we have the chance to make a difference to the lives of young people in our communities who undertake practical and emotional caring responsibilities.”
The Carers Trust was set up last year after a merger with the Princess Royal Trust for Carers and Crossroads Care merged together. It aims to provide support, information and advice for the millions of people who care for a family member or friend.
