Skin needs protecting from winter weather, expert warns
Published on 23/10/2012

Pamper hamper lovers may want to take note of tips on the best way to keep their skin looking radiant this winter.

According to skin therapist and founder of Uandyourskin.co.uk Louise Thomas-Minns, the colder months of the year can cause a plethora of problems for an individual's complexion.

"The dip in temperature and increase in wind, rain and snow will affect the delicate lipid barrier of the skin, making it more susceptible to dryness, water loss, outbreaks and sensitivity," she commented.

In order to keep skin looking healthy, ladies were advised to ensure they use a "good environmental shield" every day.

Ms Thomas-Minns claimed that the best protection is a moisturiser that contains sunscreen protection of at least SPF15.

She also recommended opting for products that are packed with botanicals and antioxidants, as these will protect and coat the skin cells by helping to bind moisture to the skin.
