Skin 'must be cared for from a young age'
Published on 01/10/2012

Ladies need to look after their skin from a young age, as it is easier to prevent damage than attempt to reverse it.

This is according to naturopath, homeopath, nutritionist and medical herbalist Max Tomlinson, who explained how avoiding sun damage is vital.

"Looking after skin ... involves a combination of hydration, of the correct vitamins and minerals, of a healthy diet, of exercise, of eating good oils and of cleansing and exfoliating on a regular basis," the expert stated.

Mr Tomlinson claimed that wearing sunscreen is vital so that the complexion remains healthy on the outside, while eating plenty of nutrients helps to protect the body from within.

Individuals were also advised to steer clear of smoking, as the pastime can introduce lots of pollution to the body and is said to break down the integrity of the skin.

Recent research published by SoBe V Water revealed that 61 per cent of people do not eat a healthy balanced diet, which means they are missing out on the vital nutrients their skin needs.
