Glasgow Rangers and Scotland goalkeeper Allan McGregor could find several baby hampers arriving very soon after his fiancee Leah Shevlin gave birth to the couple's first child.
The 29-year-old shot stopper is said to be delighted at the arrival of their daughter, who they have named Noelle Rose.
McGregor and his partner have been inundated with well-wishes from fellow footballers and fans.
One friend noted on the social networking site Twitter: "Congratulations to our Rangers goalie Allan McGregor and Leah Shevlin on the birth of their beautiful baby girl."
A spokesman for the Rangers Supporters Association expressed his delight at the news and congratulated the couple on their first born.
McGregor is not the only footballer likely to receive baby hampers in the near future.
Liverpool captain and England midfielder Steven Gerrard recently became a father for the third time, with wife Alex Curran delivering their daughter Lourdes earlier this week.
