Generous employees from a recruitment firm in Redditch, Worcestershire, have raffled a food hamper as part of their efforts to raise money for a local hospital.

Workers at Perfect Personnel on Edward Street have visited the Alexandra Hospital to drop off the £106 they generated and distribute a collection of gifts to children on the Kingfisher ward, the Redditch Advertiser reports.

The group made the sum by organising a raffle that included the prizes of a hamper, a meal for two donated by a local pub and a nail manicure.

Jamie Walsh, director of Perfect Personnel, told the news provider all the funds that were raised for the raffle were then matched by the business itself.

He added: "This was a great event, as not only did the community get behind what we were doing, but being able to put a smile on the kids' faces was priceless."

This comes after staff at a Wirral accident repair firm recently raffled a luxury hamper in order to improve the quality of life for residents at the Hospice of the Good Shepherd.
