Red wine drinkers 'more likely to have a degree'
Published on 18/12/2012

A new study has revealed an insight into the lifestyle choices of people who drink red and white wine, with one beverage expert claiming a person's favourite tipple can reveal a lot about them.

Spokesman for French Wines with Style Gerard Basset claimed certain personality traits are drawn to specific types of wine.

The survey revealed those who enjoy a glass of red are more likely to have a degree, be married and drink more frequently than those who prefer white or rose.

In comparison, white drinkers are said to be home-lovers who enjoy holidays in the UK and are content with their position on the career ladder.

When it comes to earnings, more than half of red wine drinkers are university graduates and typically earn between £40,000 - £45,000.

White wine drinkers are thought to take home less at around £25,000 to £30,000 a year, while just 43 per cent have attended university.
