Prince Charles has pitched in to help pack Christmas hampers that will be distributed to the elderly this festive season.
The Prince of Wales and his wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, spent the day in Bethnal Green and Peckham, London, as part of a tour of community food projects.
They lent a hand to volunteers packing the hampers for distribution, but the prince was slower than his wife at putting the packages together, joking that he was "hopeless" at the task.
Chair of the local Tenants and Residents Association Margaret Cox said the prince had a "wonderful sense of humour", but declined to reveal some of the jokes he made as he was given a tour of the Hollybush Estate in Bethnal Green.
The hampers contain food that the elderly and vulnerable will be able to put to good use over Christmas and a similar initiative is being run in Liverpool, where South Liverpool Homes has distributed Christmas hampers for the seventh consecutive year.
