The Liverpool International Music Festival is the replacement for the hugely popular Matthew Street Festival and the organisers are keen for the new event to begin life with a bang.

That means revellers can look forward to four days of top-class entertainment and a stunningly picturesque backdrop – perfect for settling down and enjoying some bubbles and other delights from a Champagne and Chocolate Hamper.

The festival will begin with a performance from the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, with other highlights including a day dedicated to Liverpool's favourite sons, the Beatles.

In addition, there will be a world music stage as well as performances from up-and-coming acts from the local area and beyond.

The Liverpool International Music Festival has a lot to live up to given the popularity of the event it has replaced and the organisers have pulled out all the stops to ensure people have just as much fun as they had at the Matthew Street Festival.

One advantage the new show has over its predecessor is its location – set in Sefton Park, it means you can enjoy a delicious food hamper while taking in the sounds, something that was not possible with the old event.
