Olympic Torch bring cheer to Hythe
Published on 26/07/2012

The arrival of the Olympic Torch in Hythe saw the town transformed into a carnival atmosphere, with dozens of people turning out to watch the spectacle.

According to the Deal Express, families lined the route brining picnic hampers and chairs with them so they could make a day of the celebration.

Children blew whistles, while several people in the crowd got in the patriotic spirit and waved Union Jack flags.

The flame passed through Hythe on what marked the 61st day of its journey across Great Britain.

Despite a brief rain shower, people managed to remain in good spirits and excitedly applauded as the latest torch bearer ran along at the front of the procession.

Dozens of spectators took photographs on their phones and cameras in order to capture a historic reminder of the event.

Tomorrow (July 27th), the Olympic Torch will enter the official stadium and its arrival will mark the start of the London 2012 Games.
