The foods that Britons love to eat as part of their picnic hampers has changed drastically over the last 30 years.
New research by Asda found items such as sushi, chorizo, cheese boards and ciabatta are now among the most popular when it comes to putting together a lunch for the outdoors.
In comparison, in 1982 the traditional sandwich, cocktail sausages and cheese triangles continued to reign supreme.
Gail Paddy, product development director at the supermarket, said: "Years ago, picnics were all soggy sandwiches and rainy days out. The weather may not have changed but the make-up of the standard picnic is evolving."
It seems many more people are interested in putting together a high-class meal for themselves when heading outside for a picnic.
They are also looking further afield, with the majority of products 30 years ago originating in the UK, but modern items coming from all around the world.
