A champagne gift hamper could be the ideal present to send the government as it has been revealed its hospitality wine cellar contains more than 37,000 bottles.
The total number of champagne bottles in that figure is close to 1,800.
Foreign Office minister Henry Billingham released the statistics in response to parliamentary questions and they were calculated during a stock-take in April.
It found there was 1,779 bottles of bubbly, 25,883 of red, 6,828 of white and 2,976 of fortified wine.
A number of high-profile varieties of wine were included in the collection, including offerings such as Chateau Mouton Rothschild, Chateau Lafite and Chateau Latour.
It is estimated the total value of the cellar is in the region of £864,000.
The ministers might like to satiate their thirst for the beverage by heading to Bristol next month, as the city's Wine and Food Fair is set to take place between July 2nd and 4th at Bristol Harbourside.
