Kai Rooney - son of footballer Wayne Rooney - might like to receive a baby gift hamper after making his first appearance before the British press.

His mother Coleen showed off the toddler after keeping him away from the glare of the press for a number of months, the Daily Mail reports.

The five-month-old was photographed for the first time and the newspaper noted his similarity to his father in the looks department, with "fair skin, reddish hair and blue eyes".

Mother and son were snapped while watching the Grand National race on Saturday, which was won by AP McCoy and the horse Don't Push It.

Kai was kitted out for the occasion in a pastel blue outfit and a dummy of the same colour.

Steve Cooper, manager of the Aintree racecourse where the event takes place, recently revealed that he expected around 12,000 bottles of champagne and 270,000 pints of beer to be sold at the meeting.
