Luxury pamper hampers auctioned for charity
Published on 30/11/2012

A number of luxury pamper hampers were raffled to help raise money for a cancer unit.

Fife Today reports how cancer sufferer Maggie Pearson organised a special golf day to thank Maggie's Centre for its support after her diagnosis.

The 33-year-old hoped to raise around £1,000, but the event turned out to be a great success and £6,000 was donated by attendees.

"I have made a lot of friends through Maggie’s and I am delighted to have been able to give something back through this," Ms Pearson remarked.

Burntisland Golf Club hosted the golf day, which saw 42 teams take part and funds were boosted by a raffle and silent auction.

The golf house was decorated by the ladies committee and champagne and chocolates were laid out for competitors.

Ms Pearson explained that she was motivated to help raise money for Maggie's Centre after she turned to them for emotional support when she was told she had cancer earlier this year.
