Burt's Blue cheese picked up the gold medal for best in class at the annual gathering of industry experts, the Messenger reports.
Claire Burt uses stainless steel vats to make the produce and then stores it in wine fridges in her cellar so it can mature.
"I didn't expect to win any medals, let alone the gold. I only entered to get some feedback," Ms Burt told the news provider.
The cheese is sold at Goose Green Delicatessen and staff at the outlet noted customers ask for the product by name and it is one of the store's best sellers.
