London's carers given hampers as token of gratitude
Published on 11/01/2013

Carers in the south-west of London have been given a new year's treat in the shape of dozens of food hampers.

Staff at Home Instead Senior Care, which is based in Wimbledon and Kingston, worked right across the festive season, providing support to carers in homes across the area.

Now, the company's staff have clubbed together to deliver 30 hampers to the employees who dedicated some or all of their Christmas holidays to looking after others, the Wimbledon Guardian reports.

In all, 30 food hampers and parcels have been delivered to carers in the south-west of the capital, with the owner of Home Instead Senior Care Clare Jefferies telling the paper she hopes this will ensure the workers "have a selection of treats to look forward to well into the new year."

This comes just days after it was announced that East Anglia Children's Hospices is to auction off a baby hamper donated to the charity by the Duchess of Cambridge back in December.
