A baby gift hamper could be the ideal gift for Kevin Pietersen and his wife Jessica as it has been revealed the pair are celebrating the birth of their first child.

The England cricket international rushed back from the World Twenty20 to be with his partner, who used to be in pop group Liberty X, at her time of need.

"This is the most amazing experience of my life," the sportsman declared.

A spokeswoman for the celebrity duo revealed Pietersen would stay with his family for a few days before returning to the Caribbean to meet up again with his England team-mates.

She said: "They would now like time on their own to relish their new arrival."
