The Islington Tribune has thanked its readers for their generous contributions towards its Christmas Hamper appeal, which raised a total of £2,631.
Furthermore, the publication revealed the Kindness Offensive - a charity dedicated to random acts of goodwill - donated over 50 new toys to the children of low-income households.
All contributions were passed on to the Islington Play Association (IPA) and distributed to families in the area who are most in need.
Suzanne Murray, deputy director of IPA, stated: "We work with children and families in need and are very happy to distribute the toys. This kind of generosity and community spirit are the reason that charities like ours continue to exist."
The Tribune presented more than 40 households with festive hampers alongside volunteers from St Mary's Church in Upper Street and the Islington Pensioners Forum.
It released its appeal in November and sought to bring a bit of Christmas joy to those who might otherwise feel lonely over the holiday season.
