Peaches Geldof may soon find herself in receipt of baby hampers, as she has announced she is expecting her first child.

The television presenter's spokesperson confirmed she and her fiance Thomas Cohen are set to welcome their son or daughter later this year.

"Peaches is utterly thrilled and they have the full support of both of their families who are equally excited for the baby's arrival," the representative remarked.

The 22-year-old mother-to-be is the daughter of Boomtown Rats star Bob Geldof and his late ex-wife Paula Yates.

She announced her engagement to Cohen last month, with the pair describing how they had no intention of rushing into marriage.

This may be due to the fact Geldof has tied the knot once before with rocker Max Drummery, whom she went on to divorce.

The former husband and wife exchanged vows in Las Vegas in 2009, but called time on their relationship just six months later.
