According to the Evening Times, former chef George Mewes has opened a new shop dedicated to the food - called George Mewes Cheese - which contains 45 different types of the dairy product. The outlet is based on Byres Road in Glasgow, Scotland and also offers complementary olives, jams, preserves and balsamic vinegar. Commenting on his enthusiasm for the foodstuff, Mr Mewes told the publication: "I love to see people's expressions when they try some amazing cheeses!" He added: "I've always had a passion for cheese, especially when I worked in Italy, where I was blown away by the food." And his comments could inspire Britons to send a loved one a cheese hamper for a special occasion such as a birthday or anniversary.
