Hampers may make getting a balanced diet easier

Hampers might be the perfect gift for people who are hoping to improve the balance of their diet as the new year approaches.

The festive period can often be a time when many individuals will find themselves overindulging, something that may prompt them to get back on track in the new year.

Yvonne Bishop-Weston, Harley Street nutritionist, recently advised people looking to make eating better one of their new year's resolutions that they should eat five times through the day, something that hampers containing a range of products could help with.

"Have breakfast within an hour of waking and then have a snack then lunch, a snack, then dinner because that helps to keep our blood sugar levels stable," she stated.

Sian Porter, consultant nutritionist and dietician at Weetabix, recently emphasised the importance of a good breakfast, stating it should give people around 20 per cent of the energy they need for the day.
