British cuisine is reportedly experiencing a revival that could see more native products appearing as food gifts in hampers.
According to the Guardian, German foodies are increasingly embracing treats such as a traditional fry-up, steak and ale pies, Sunday roasts, real ales and clotted cream teas.
The newspaper reports there has been "an explosion" of cafes in Berlin serving traditional British dishes, with native residents choosing to frequent them.
Editor of magazine Der Feinschmecker Deborah Gottlieb explained: "For German gourmets, London has long been a favourite destination because of the large selection of top-class food from around the world."
In addition, a growing trend for northern European cuisine in the US, in particular from Scandanavia, Germany, Austria and Belgiu has been highlighted by recent research.
A report by the Center for Culinary Development and market research firm Packaged Facts stated that such nations "are now taking the lead" in terms of food influence, which could see items from northern European countries added to hampers.
