Hampers have been described as a great alternative to traditional presents for an array of events.

Award-winning perfume writer and gift expert Persolaise explained how hampers can be "exciting" for the recipient as they provide an air of mystery about what is contained within.

"Opening a hamper takes us straight back to childhood dreams of finding a chest of treasure - we never know quite what's going to be inside," he stated.

It was suggested that gift baskets are a particularly good present for mums as they rarely get to spend money on themselves.

Persolaise suggested purchasing a pamper hamper filled with luxurious "goodies and treats" and presenting it on Mother's Day.

He claimed the hamper is "sure to be a hit" with mums and is definitely a great gift idea.
