A health promotion event in Yorkshire has helped to raise hundreds of pounds for charity, with a hamper raffled off among the top prizes that were up for grabs.

Hipperholme and Lightcliffe High School Year 12 Health and Social Care students organised the day to raise awareness of breast cancer and raised £638 in total for Breast Cancer Care.

According to a report by the Huddersfield Daily Examiner, among the events that took place on the day was a guess the number of balloons in a car contest.

Indian food, buns and cakes were also sold on the day to raise funds, while the hamper raffle was popular and nail painting was also on offer for those attending.

People organising raffles this year could buy hampers to donate to the prize fund, as these are a popular way to get people to give money to good causes.
