The family of a young girl who is hoping to undergo pioneering medical treatment in the US have expressed their thanks to individuals who took part in a fundraising event.
Almost £4,000 was raised for the Hope for Georgia appeal during a special fun day held in Charford, the Bromsgrove Standard reports.
Hampers were raffled off, along with a signed Leicester Tigers rugby shirt and an M&S voucher, as members of the public got into the spirit of the day.
"It was an amazing event - everyone was giving really generously ... I can't believe how much has been raised so far in a matter of weeks," Georgia's mother Natalie Almquest stated.
The family has so far collected more than £8,000 towards the £20,000 needed for stem cell treatment to help the two-year-old cerebral palsy sufferer to hold her head up, sit and crawl.
Katie Mander from the Bromsgrove branch of Halifax, who organised the event, thanked the local community for their support.
