Hamper lovers can attend a cheese-making demo
Published on 28/04/2010

Those with a fondness for cheese hampers might like to attend an event that is being held in honour of the foodstuff.

As part of Lancashire's Picnic Month in May, the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and Leagram Organic Dairy will be holding a cheese-making demonstration on Sunday May 16th, the Clitheroe Advertiser reports.

It is to take place in Chipping - near the forest of Bowland - and will be hosted by Bob Kitching - local manufacturer of the dairy produce.

He will perform an hour-long step-by-step guide to show how milk can be transformed into the food.

Sarah Silk, from the AONB, advised prospective guests to book a place if they "would like to find out more about Bowland's cheese-making heritage and get to sample some of the delicious cheese made in this area".

The Irish Dairy Board's Aged Cheddar recently scooped up the accolade of best cheddar aged one or two years at the 2010 World Championship Cheese Contest.
