Hairdressers raises money for hospice with luxury hamper raffle
Published on 07/02/2012

A hair salon in Henley raffled off a luxury hamper to raise money for charity.

Workers at Strand Hairdressers on Greys Road raised £300 through the scheme, which was donated to the Sue Ryder hospice in Nettlebed, the Henley Standard reports.

This healthcare group provides palliative care with a multi-professional staff and can address complicated problems relating to symptom management.

"Sue Ryder is a very worthy cause and we feel local businesses should support local charities," manager of the salon Tori Newton was quoted by the news source as saying.

The raffle tickets for the hamper were sold in December and the winner received goods such as champagne and a dinner set.

Previously, the company has raised money for Twyford charity Daisy's Dream, which offers guidance and practical support for children and families affected by bereavement or life-threatening ailments.

On December 24th 2010, the Christmas Luxury Hamper Raffle draw raised £1,047 for this organisation.
