Taking part in English Wine Week 2010 could be the ideal bank holiday activity for gift hamper enthusiasts this weekend.
The get-together will be running from Saturday May 29th until Sunday June 6th and is a collaboration of vineyards, merchants, farm shops and pubs, among others.
It is a nationwide campaign to highlight English viticulture and will see vineyards from across the country allow entry to the venues, with wine tours, tastings and special events taking place.
Other local and regional vendors will be getting involved in the project by holding in-house sampling sessions and adopting new menus.
According to English Wine Producers: "Visitors will be able to discover just how delicious English wines are and how readily accessible they are proving to be."
The Wouldhave pub in South Shields recently revealed it is to have a wine festival in preparation of the football World Cup, in which it will serve varieties of the beverage that have been produced at different countries taking part in the tournament.
