Fruit in hampers could be enjoyed at breakfast
Published on 27/01/2011

Fruit hamper enthusiasts may want to consider enjoying the parcels' contents as part of a nourishing breakfast.

Starting off by eating sensible portions of nutritious food, when there's an appetite for it, could bring benefits that last throughout the day, the Early Show reports.

Frances Largeman-Roth, senior food and nutrition editor at Health magazine, commented that the meal shouldn't necessarily be skipped, instead advising that people should eat if the hunger is there.

"And when you are hungry, you should still have breakfast foods, because that's sometimes the only opportunity in your day to eat fruit," she explained.

Suggesting that people who don't eat a lot in the morning could try having a banana, Ms Largeman-Roth added the right kind of food can help maintain focus and keep snacks at bay.

Research conducted at Oxford University recently revealed meeting the national guidelines for eating fruit and vegetables has the potential to make people substantially more healthy.
