Parents looking to provide their children with a healthy, balanced diet could find purchasing fruit baskets makes it easier to do so.
Over the festive period most people tend to over indulge to some extent as houses are likely to be full with a variety of treats, however, the new year could be the perfect time to get back on track.
Parenting expert and author of Raising Happy Children For Dummies Sue Atkins suggested that adults should "try and encourage healthy eating".
"Of course [there] is lots of chocolate at this time of year, which isn't a good thing and lots of sweets … here are a lot of tangerines and grapes and fruit salad-type stuff that they can pick," she said.
This follows recent comments from Alison Wyndham, physiotherapist and complementary health practitioner at The Wyndham Centre, stating that eating vegetables can help to reduce the likelihood of allergies occurring.
