Monday December 3rd is expected to be the biggest pre-Christmas shopping day for online retailers, as millions take to the internet to order their gifts.
According to experts at Experian, current trends suggest there will be 115 million visits to retail sites on the date, which is up 36 per cent from 83 million last year.
"This will be the peak of pre-Christmas shopping in the UK so marketers need to make sure their campaigns are in place to maximise traffic on Cyber Monday: it's not too late to promote special offers through email and social media," digital insight manager at Experian James Murray stated.
As people take to the internet to order gifts such as hampers, electrical goods and toys, Britons are expected to spend 15 millions hours shopping online on December 3rd.
This is equivalent to 15 minutes for every person in the country and Mr Murray claimed the predicted figures put this Christmas on track to be a record-breaking year for online sales.
