Baby gift hampers could be on their way to X Factor judge Dannii Minogue after the star gave birth to a boy in Australia.

The former singer announced with boyfriend Kris Smith on Monday (July 5th) that the couple have welcomed Ethan Edward Smith into the world at the Royal Women's Hospital in Melbourne.

Previous reports suggested that Minogue was planning a home birth, but complications meant that she had to go into the hospital to deliver the baby boy.

A spokesperson for the television celebrity said: "Mother and baby are doing well and dad is very proud. They request their privacy at this special time to adjust as new parents."

Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger is currently holding Minogue's role as judge on the X Factor, but Dannii is set to return later in the year.

John Travolta and his wife could also be receiving a baby gift hamper after the couple announced in an exclusive interview to People magazine that they are expecting another child.
