Christmas shopping left to December 24th by 6.7m Brits
Published on 26/11/2012

More than six million Brits leave purchasing their Christmas gifts until the last possible moment, according to new research.

While organised individuals may already have ordered hampers online ahead of the festive season, a study by VoucherCodes.co.uk revealed 6.7 million wait until December 24th.

Men were found to be the worst offenders, with one in five claiming they do not hit the shops until Christmas Eve, compare to just one in ten women.

Ten per cent of respondents admitted to being so last minute that they had no choice but to purchase presents from petrol stations on the way to see loved ones.

Co-founder of VoucherCodes.co.uk Duncan Jennings claimed that although there is a lot to organise at Christmas, there is "no excuse" for buying gifts at gas stations.

"With most retailers offering multiple ways to shop, online, in-store or even through a smartphone, picking up a gift has never been easier," he stated.
