Organisers at Lincoln's Christmas market have said there has been a surge of businesses applying to run stalls at the event, which may include those wanting to sell Christmas hampers. Visitors from across the world attend the gathering, which sees stands placed around the castle, BBC News reports. Rob Bradley, from the City of Lincoln Council explained it is a "nice problem" to have, as there will be plenty of quality booths to choose from. "Sometimes in the past we have had X number of slots and only Y number of applications, so your ability to select on grounds of quality was limited," he added. The local authority stated it has received 400 applications for the 250 spots available. A wide range of goods are on offer at the festive occasion including decorations, arts and crafts and festive gifts, which could include Christmas hampers. Visitors can also sample an array of freshly cooked food or enjoy a glass of mulled wine as they browse the many stalls and soak up the Christmas atmosphere.
