Christmas hamper fans might want to buy presents now
Published on 18/08/2010

A number of shops in Preston now have festive products on sale, something which may persuade Christmas hamper fans to buy their gifts early.

The Card Factory, located in the town's Fishergate Centre now has Yuletide stock on sale, despite it being 129 days until Christmas, the Lancashire Evening Post reports.

Manager of the store Lindsay Fitzjohn said boxed Christmas cards and single relations cards have sold well up to now.

"We have also sold some 2011 calendars and diaries, and Christmas roll-wrap. The staff have not started to dress up in festive gear yet, but we usually put our Christmas music on towards the end of September," she added.

Director of Festive Lights Matthew Higginson also noted the store has Christmas stock on its shop floor all year round and he notices an increase in sales during this time of year.

Earlier this week, Thorntons revealed it has given its Classic Collection range - which often features in luxury gift hampers - a makeover in a bid to "keep consumer interest".
