Chocolate hampers good for health and happiness?
Published on 22/02/2011

Chocolate hampers could be full of treats that can give the taster's wellbeing and contentment a boost.

Speaking to the Royal Gazette, lifestyle and health coach Preston Ephraim noted that cocoa-based confectionaries have been making eaters feel good for a long time as chocolate was eaten in ancient ceremonies by people to have fun and be uninhibited.

He recommended finding the best quality of the foodstuff for achieving the chocolate experience and added that individuals do not need to consume large quantities of "clean chocolate", so feel less guilty about their indulgence.

"Chocolate tends to make me feel happy. Chocolate is definitely an aphrodisiac, and the more chocolate you have the better you will feel but at the same time in moderation," he explained.

This follows research conducted by the Hershey Center for Health and Nutrition and published in the Chemistry Central Journal this month, which showed cocoa powder could contain more antioxidants than fruit juice.
