Cheese often found in luxury hampers wins top award
Published on 26/07/2010

Luxury cheese hampers often feature a range of goods and one brand has won two awards for its products.

Butlers Farmhouse Red Leicester proved victorious and claimed the Supreme Champion Cheese gong, the Lancashire Evening Post reports.

Gillian Hall from the family-run firm - which has made cheese since 1932 - said winning the two accolades is "fantastic".

"I'm so proud of everyone involved at the dairy in this success, from the cows to the cheese makers at Inglewhite and Throstle Barn," she added.

The cheese-makers were also awarded the Reserve Champion trophy for its Trotter Hill Tasty Lancashire.

Tuxford and Tebbutt were recently named as the Best Blue Cheese in the Great Yorkshire Show and the establishment also picked up a gold prize.

Chief executive of Milk Link, the parent company of the producer, noted the excellent cheese makers deserve recognition for their skills, which help to deliver the exceptional taste of their products.

A range of award-winning cheeses frequently feature in luxury gift hampers and recipients will often find Gold Great Cheese Award winner Cropwell Bishop Creamery Finest Blue Stilton nestled among other treats, such as Graham's Late Vintage Port.
