A luxury cheese has now gone on sale in Tesco for a limited period of time, news which may interest cheese hamper fans.
Nantwich firm Joseph Heler's Blue Cheshire will be available in the supermarket's deli counters for four weeks, the Crewe Chronicle reports.
A spokesman from the company said this type of cheese is formed by introducing mould to the milk during the early stages.
"The mould then comes to life when the cheese is pierced to allow air into the cheese and allow the areas around the piercing to [turn] blue," he added.
And the representative explained this is what gives the dairy product its blue veins and golden interior.
He went on to explain Blue Cheshire has a slightly milder taste when compared to English Stilton, but is still creamy and crumbly.
A mother from Altrincham recently won a prestigious award at the Nantwich Cheese Festival.
Claire Burt picked up a gold medal for Burt's Blue cheese, the Messenger reported.
