The number of champagne gift hampers bought could be on the increase as a luxury goods firm has reported substantial growth.
LVMH - which produces Krug Champagne - has announced a 13 per cent leap in first-quarter sales for 2010, suggesting people are starting to spend again after the recession.
The Paris-based company, which also manufactures Louis Vuitton handbags, made $4.47 billion (£3.95 billion) - beating a predicted amount of $4.21 billion that was calculated by experts.
Dennis Weber, an analyst at Evolution Securities, said the figures are much better than expected across the board.
He commented: "There seems to be a perfect alignment of stars for LMVH at the moment."
The firm's wine and spirits division - featuring its Hennessy cognac brand - saw sales increase by 20 per cent.
It was recently reported that champagne is a drink that is becoming increasingly popular among people in their 20s.
