A Teddy Bears' Picnic that was cancelled due to bad weather is set to take place this Friday (September 21st) in Lister Park, Manningham. Between 14:30 and 17:00 BST, the Born in Bradford event will welcome families taking part in its sport-themed event, the Telegraph and Argus reports. Programme manager Dr Rosie McEachan explained how the picnic will feature a special guest in the form of Olympic torch bearer Brenda Thomson, who will show off her torch at the event. Meanwhile, Bradford's Ministry of Food will be demonstrating how to make pancakes and there will be free fruit for all the children in attendance. There is also set to be a raffle featuring a large fruit hamper and a photographer taking pictures of the picnic from 16:00 BST. Dr McEachan said: "A lot of the research we are carrying out is looking at the diet and physical activity habits of parents and children, seeing where there are problems and then supporting ... healthier choices."
